Raisa was raised by both of their parents living at Los Angeles, California. Her sisters are Irlanda Almendarez and Italia Almendarez. Her first name, Francia, is Italian which means France. Italia as well as Irlanda are both Italian names for Italy. Her mother Virginia Almendarez has Mexican roots and her father, Renan, has roots in Honduras. Renan changed his name to El Cucuy shortly after the birth of Francia. He is an acclaimed Latino radio DJ and well popular in Los Angeles.
